The Self Published Author
Welcome to my website.
It's under construction as of 29 January 2011.
If you are here as someone who is or aspires to be a self published author, I can give you a couple tips before I do anything more with building the website.
- Fiction and non-fiction books are marketed very differently because you can easily find people interested in particular non-fiction topics and market to them. I'm not sure how you'd market fiction, except to try to get it in everyone possble's hands.
- If you're writing non-fiction for a non-academic audience, try to keep the reading level at or below 9th grade. It will give you more of an audience. This doesn't mean speak down to them or fail to communicate your ideas. Just use simpler words to express the ideas.
If you are interested in some non-fiction tips, I was going to do a course. However, I only got a single lesson done. If you'd like, you are welcome to download it. If it's of value , let me know and add me as a friend on Facebook.
